Traditional Piedmontese salad

Surprisingly, the traditional Piedmontese salad actually originated in Russia. This classic dish can be prepared year-round and is perfect for picnics. The ingredients include potatoes, tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, ham, and mayonnaise for a refreshing, flavorful, and easy-to-make salad.

Ingredients · Servings 4 people
  • 400g Roma tomatoes
  • 600g firm-fleshed potatoes, cooked with the skin on for about 30 minutes
  • 3 hard-boiled eggs
  • 8 large gherkins
  • 200g diced ham
  • 150 g mayonnaise.
  • 2 tbsp light cream at 15
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

Method · 20 min
  1. Cut the tomatoes into pieces, as well as the potatoes after peeling them.
  2. Peel the eggs and cut them into 8 pieces. Slice the pickles.
  3. Place the tomatoes, potatoes, eggs, pickles, and ham in a salad bowl. Add the mayonnaise, vinegar, light cream, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Mix everything together well and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
