Tobermory oyster farm put on market for £250,000
Property agency Galbraith has listed Tobermory Oyster Farm for offers over £250,000 after 50 years under the same family ownership. Situated at Port na Coite, a sheltered bay near Tobermory, the property includes 200 metres of foreshore, a freshwater spring and views across the Sound of Mull.
The farm currently has 60 stocked oyster trestles at various stages of production. Its Crown Estate lease permits up to 200 trestles, giving a new owner scope to expand the operation.
Calum Innes, a partner with Galbraith, said in a press release: “This is a rare opportunity to run a sustainable business and enjoy a slower pace of life on one of the most beautiful islands in Scotland. The facilities are in place for the purchaser to continue the oyster cultivation and indeed there is also significant potential to develop the business if desired.”
