Moong Sprouts Chaat Recipe

Moong Sprouts Chaat with Step by Step Pictures. This is one quick and healthy salad which i made few days back. It was very cooling and refreshing, i loved it so much. If you are on diet, you can have a bowl of this for lunch, it keeps you filling for a long time. This is a cooling and tasty salad.

Ingredients · Servings 4
  • Moong Sprouts - 2 cups
  • Potato - 1 large peeled (chopped and boiled)
  • Carrot - 1 small chopped
  • Onion - 1 small chopped finely
  • Coriander leaves - 3 tblspn finely chopped
  • Lemon Juice to taste
  • Black Salt to taste
  • Chat Masala Powder to taste
  • Chilli Powder to taste
Method · 15 min
  1. Take moong sprouts in a colander and place it over a sauce pan of boiling water and steam cook for 5 to 6 mins till it is done.
  2. Now take this in a bowl and add all other ingredients and mix well.
  3. Serve.

Sprouted green gram, also known as mung beans or moong, is a rich source of fibre and is fat-free. Due to high fibre content, they are filling and extremely healthy. Sprouted moong refers to whole moong beans, which have been sprouted. In order to sprout the moong, first it has to be sorted to remove stones, washed, and then soaked in water for 6-8 hours.

Moong Sprouts: Moong Sprouts are not the same as Soybean Sprouts. Mung bean sprouts are the thin, edible shoots that sprouted mung beans produce. They have a crunchy texture and a subtly sweet flavour and can be eaten raw or slightly cooked. They are most commonly found in Asian cooking.
