Waffles
Waffles are always a random project for me. They are a great way to use up a dollop of whipped cream, custard or the last of your yogurt or ice cream. Here I give you a basic recipe, but the ingredients can be substituted depending on what you have in the fridge.
Ingredients · Servings 12
- 3 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 60g sugar
- 6 dl h-melk
- 1.5 dl water
- 400 g wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- 1 teaspoon cardamom
- 100g butter
Method · 45 min
- Whisk together the eggs, salt and sugar until fluffy, but not quite stiff. Mix in the milk with the egg mixture.
- Mix together the flour and baking powder and add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients little by little until you have a lump-free batter.
- Finally, stir in the cooled butter. Season with extra sugar or cardamom if desired. Let the mixture rise for about 30 minutes.
- Then fry the waffles until golden in a waffle iron and serve with sour cream and jam.
