Ghost cookies: the easiest and most fun Halloween recipe to make with kids
Halloween has crept into our kitchens almost without us noticing. Every year, children eagerly await their costumes, pumpkins, and, of course, homemade treats. These ghost cookies for Halloween are a simple and fun way to spend time with them.
Ingredients · Servings 12
- 1 masa sablée (sweet quebrada or breeze)
- 4 tablespoons of raspberry jam
- 50g icing sugar (approx.)
Method · 30 min
- Roll out the dough between two sheets of baking paper until thin. Cut out hearts with a cookie cutter (you can chill it for a few seconds in the freezer) and place the pieces on a lined baking tray.
- Chill the dough for 10 minutes in the freezer. Remove any excess dough and cut each heart in half to form the ghosts.
- Make the eyes and mouth on half of the pieces using a nozzle or straw: use the narrow end for the eyes and the wide end for the mouth. Tilt the bottom end slightly to draw the ghost's "tail".
- Bake at 180°C (350°F), top and bottom heat, for about 10 minutes. If you want them to keep their shape, cover them with baking paper and another tray as a weight.
- Let them cool on a wire rack. Fill the base of the cookies with a little jam and sprinkle the tops with powdered sugar using a sieve for a more even coating.
- Put the pieces together like a sandwich: place one piece sprinkled with jam on top of another and press gently.
- You can now enjoy these fun and very easy ghost cookies, perfect for preparing as a family and adding a sweet touch to Halloween night.
