Method · 30 min
- To prepare the dough: In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, and yeast. Then add the butter and beaten egg. Gradually pour in the milk and mix. Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes. Then cover with a clean tea towel and let it rise while you prepare the filling.
- Sauté the chopped onion and mushrooms in a pan for 5 minutes. Add the beef and sauté for another 5 minutes. Add the spices: Dukha chili, paprika, ginger, cinnamon, and oregano. Pour in the tomato sauce, season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes over low heat.
- Wait for the mixture to cool before adding the Gruyère cheese. Meanwhile, divide the dough into 8 balls. Roll out each ball to a thickness of about 1 cm and place 2 tablespoons of the filling in the center. Then fold the dough over to enclose the filling. Place the buns seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Once all the buns are filled, cover with a clean tea towel and let rise for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Brush with milk before baking for 20-25 minutes, depending on your oven. Check them after 20 minutes. The bun should be golden brown. And there you have it, beautiful beef and Gruyère buns. Enjoy, little ones!
