Looking to reinvent your classic burger? The Korean-style beef burger offers a twist on the traditional version, using an Asian recipe bursting with exquisite flavors. Made with ground beef seasoned with grated ginger and enhanced with soy sauce, the filling strikes a perfect balance between mildness and boldness. Also plan for:
15 ml (1 tbsp) chopped garlic
60 ml (1/4 cup) of brown sugar
Optional:
1.25 ml (1/4 tsp) chili flakes
Steps
In a pan, heat a little sesame oil over medium heat. Cook the ground beef for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking up the meat slightly, until it has lost its pink color.
Add the ginger, garlic and, if desired, the chili flakes. Cook for 1 minute.
Stir in the brown sugar and soy sauce, then continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes while stirring.
Open the hamburger buns. In another pan heated over low-medium heat, brown the inside of the buns for a few seconds.
Top the buns with the beef mixture and green onions.
