Bucatini with mussels

Ingredients for 4 people

Ingredients · Servings 4
  • 300 g bucatini (of spaghetti)
  • 750 g mussels
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 ui
  • 0.5 red pepper
  • 150 ml dry white wine
  • 10 gr chopped parsley
  • Chili flakes and salt
  • Olive oil
Method · 20 min
  1. Start by cleaning the mussels. Wash them thoroughly and remove any broken shells. Mussels that are open are often not fresh. You can tap them gently. If they do not close, throw them away.
  2. Cook the bucatini (or spaghetti) in plenty of salted water until al dente, as directed on the packaging. It will take at least 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. Finely chop the garlic and red pepper. Peel and finely chop the onion. Finely chop the parsley and set aside.
  4. Sauté the onion, garlic, and red pepper in a generous splash of olive oil.
  5. Add the mussels. Deglaze with white wine. Put the lid on the pan and shake it back and forth a few times. The mussels are ready when they open.
  6. Add the cooked bucatini and toss it together. Season the pasta further to taste with some chili flakes, salt, and a delicious drizzle of olive oil. Garnish the mussel pasta with a generous handful of parsley.
