Rice with Nuts
2 cups of rice
Salt
3 glasses of water
Place your rice pot on the stove and heat it. Add butter and olive oil and melt the butter. Add pistachios, cashews, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and peanuts and sauté. Set aside some of the sautéed nuts to garnish the top.
Next, add the finely chopped onion to the pot and sauté until softened. Add the washed and drained rice and sauté.
Add the ground cinnamon, allspice, and the currants (soaked and drained) and mix. Add salt and pepper and stir once. Finally, add the granulated sugar and water, mix everything together, and cover the pot. Cook over high heat until boiling, then reduce the heat and simmer until the water is absorbed. Turn off the heat and let the rice rest for 15 minutes. Serve the rice hot.
