Pork and shrimp pies
Pies are always a celebration; even their name suggests the word "feast." And for every festive feast in Rus', there was a special type of pie. Hence the variety of their shapes and fillings.
- garlic – 1 clove
- salt – to taste
- flour – 550 g
- Milk
- dry yeast – 1 tsp.
- minced pork – 400 g
- peeled shrimp – 150 g
- whites – 2 pcs.
- Olive oil
- Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt, pour in the warm milk, and add the yeast. Mix, pour in the olive oil, and gradually add the flour until you have a stiff dough. Let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Add chopped garlic, salt, and pepper to the minced meat. Mix thoroughly. Add the shrimp and mix well.
- Knead the dough, divide into equal parts, and roll into a circle. Place the filling in the center and pinch the edges. Steam for 25 minutes. Serve hot.
