Delicious Recipes: Çırahta Recipe

Çırahta, a regional delicacy of Turkish cuisine, especially common in the Aegean and Black Sea regions, is ideal for those who want to prepare a quick and crispy dessert at home. This çırahta recipe stands out for both its easy preparation and delicious taste.

Ingredients · Servings 4
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water (add gradually, checking the temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • Vegetable oil (enough for frying)
Method · 35 min
  1. 1. Combine lukewarm water and butter in a large bowl, stirring until the butter is completely melted.
  2. 2. Next, add the flour, salt, and baking soda and whisk with a wire whisk until you obtain a homogeneous and smooth batter.
  3. 3. The resulting batter should have a slightly thicker consistency than pancake batter.
  4. 4. For frying, add enough cooking oil to your crepe pan or a small skillet.
  5. 5. Take spoonfuls of the batter and pour them into the pan, then cook until bubbles appear on the surface.
  6. 6. Then, carefully flip it over with a spatula and fry the other side until golden brown.
  7. 7. After baking all the dough in this way, transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  8. 8. Transfer hot to a serving dish and serve as desired.
