Recipe for a coconut cream puff cake, submitted by Giselle Cirino

1. Filling: Mix all ingredients and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened and starting to pull away from the bottom of the pan. Set aside.

Ingredients · Servings 10
  • Mass
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of oil
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 cups of wheat flour
  • 1 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • Filling
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 box of heavy cream
  • 100 g of grated coconut
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon of margarine or butter
  • 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 1/2 carton of heavy cream
Method · 1 h 30 min
  1. Mix all the ingredients together and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens well and begins to pull away from the bottom of the pan. Set aside.
  2. Beat the eggs and oil together for about 2 minutes in a mixer.
  3. While still beating, gradually add the sugar. Turn off the mixer.
  4. Add the milk, flour, and chocolate and beat until a consistent batter forms.
  5. Add the baking powder and mix by hand.
  6. Grease a baking pan and pour in half of the batter.
  7. Using two spoons, gradually place all the filling into the dough.
  8. Pour in the rest of the batter.
  9. Place in the oven and bake for approximately 40 minutes.
  10. Mix the margarine, condensed milk, and cocoa powder in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  11. Turn off the heat.
  12. Mix in the heavy cream and stir until it forms a thick cream.
  13. Once the cake is lukewarm and has completely loosened from the pan, pour the frosting over it.
  14. Finish with sprinkles and shredded coconut.
  15. Note: I used a medium-sized round springform pan.

  • 14. Finish with sprinkles and shredded coconut.
