A delicious homemade chocolate brioche recipe for flawless results
Chocolate brioche bun
- 500 g flour
- 200 ml warm milk
- 100 g Melted butter
- 150 g sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 1 sachet of dry brewer's yeast
- Sale q.b.
- 1 lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons bitter cocoa
- qb Latte
- 50 g icing sugar
- 1 teaspoon rum
- In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk with a pinch of sugar and let it sit for 10 minutes. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar, melted butter, salt, lemon zest, and vanilla. Add the activated yeast and mix.
- Gradually incorporate the flour until you obtain a soft, smooth dough. Knead for about 10-15 minutes. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Mix the cocoa and powdered sugar with enough milk to make a thick sauce, which you can add rum to taste. Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the cocoa filling evenly over the dough and roll it into a cylinder. Place it in a loaf pan lined with parchment paper.
- Cover again and let it rise for another 30-40 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the brioche for 40-50 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- To obtain a perfect dough, use quality ingredients and room temperature ingredients. And work the dough well to ensure perfect leavening.
- To best preserve the cake, wrap it in plastic wrap and store it in a cool, dry place; it will stay soft for several days. You can also freeze it already sliced, placing it in freezer bags and having it ready to use whenever you want.
- Chocolate brioche is a versatile dessert, perfect for any occasion. Relatively simple to make—though it requires several steps—it adds a touch of sweetness to any table.
- You can enrich the recipe with chopped hazelnuts or orange peel, and experiment with different types of chocolate, such as dark, milk, or white.
