Yogurt bun

Yogurt bun is a simple dessert that can be easily adapted to the season and fruit supplies. Simply mix the soft dough, spread it on a baking sheet, add fruit and butter crumbs, and it's ready to bake in no time.

Ingredients · Servings 1 sheet
  • Dough:
  • 300 g plain yogurt
  • 2 cups of semi-coarse flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 baking powder
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • fruit (as needed)
  • Crumb:
  • 80 g butter
  • 150-170 g semi-coarse flour
  • 80 g caster sugar
  • Further:
  • grease for wiping the sheet metal
  • coarse flour for dusting the baking sheet
Method · 1 h
  1. Grease the baking sheet and sprinkle with coarse flour.
  2. Place the semi-coarse flour, sugar, baking powder, vanilla sugar, eggs and yoghurt in a bowl. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until a smooth dough is formed.
  3. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  4. Wash the fruit, clean it depending on the type, or cut it into smaller pieces, and spread it on the surface of the dough.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  6. Rub the butter, semi-coarse flour and semolina sugar with your fingers until you get a loose crumb. Sprinkle it evenly over the fruit.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the bun for approximately 35 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a skewer into the dough. If it comes out dry, the bun is done.
  8. Let the finished bun cool slightly, cut it into portions and serve.
