Dill sauce
Classic dill sauce is one of the treasures of Czech cuisine. It is velvety soft and fragrant, traditionally served with boiled meat or hard-boiled eggs. A popular side dish is bread dumplings or boiled potatoes. This dill sauce will appeal to everyone!
Ingredients · Servings 3
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons plain flour
- meat (or bone) broth
- 200 ml milk
- 250 ml cooking cream 12%
- 1 bunch of fresh dill
- salt
- vinegar
- granulated sugar
Method · 50 min
- Finely chop the washed dill. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the flour and fry until light brown, stirring constantly.
- Pour in cold broth or water, add milk, stir and let cook for about 20 minutes.
- Then stir in the cream, dill and season the sauce with salt, sugar and vinegar. Serve with boiled beef or a hard-boiled egg.
- Boiled potatoes or bread dumplings are suitable as a side dish.
