Can Parmesan be replaced with another cheese suitable for gratinating?
Ingredients · Servings 4 people
- 4 cod fillets
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 cloves of chopped garlic
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 5 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 dl light cream
- 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Method · 5 min
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Season the fish fillets with salt, garlic, and lemon juice. Cover with cling film and let rest for 15 minutes.
- Coat a dish with olive oil. Arrange the cod fillets in it. Pour the cream over the fish and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in a moderate oven for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Serve immediately.
Yes, you can substitute other cheeses for the Parmesan, depending on your preference: mozzarella for a melty texture, Gruyère or Comté for a milder flavor, or Pecorino for a more robust taste. Even a reduced-fat grated cheese works very well if you're looking for a lighter version.
