Pie with ham

Ham pie with leeks, broccoli and cheddar

Ingredients · Servings 5
  • 1 piece pie crust
  • 150 g cooked ham
  • 1 leek
  • 100 g broccoli
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 100 g cheddar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 dl fresh cream
  • a little salt and ground pepper
Method · 45 min
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top and bottom heat.
  2. Find a pie dish measuring approximately 24 cm and brush it lightly with butter or oil.
  3. Line the pie dish with the prepared pie crust and trim the edges. Prick the crust with a fork and pre-bake on the lowest rack for 10–12 minutes. Brush the hot crust with a little beaten egg immediately after pre-baking.
  4. Sauté the leek and garlic in a little butter until soft. Boil the broccoli quickly (1-2 minutes) in lightly salted water and cool.
  5. Whisk together the eggs and crème fraîche. Season with salt and pepper. Divide the vegetables and ham into the pie crust, sprinkle with cheddar and pour over the egg mixture.
  6. Bake the pie on the bottom rack for about 30 minutes until golden and cooked through.

Pie is always a good idea - whether you want to use up leftovers, make something green, cheesy or just need something filling and warming. Here you get one with ham, broccoli and cheddar - but you can also use whatever you have in the fridge. If you want to make the pie crust yourself, you can find the recipe here.
