Classic shepherd's pie with garlic and parsley: the easy recipe

Discover the easy recipe for classic shepherd's pie with garlic and parsley. A must-have family dish made with flavorful minced meat and buttery homemade mashed potatoes.

Ingredients · Servings 4 people
  • 100 kg potatoes
  • 600g minced meat
  • 4 or 5 onions
  • 150g butter
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons of granulated garlic (frozen)
  • 20 cl milk
  • grated nutmeg
  • cell
  • pepper
Method · 45 min
  1. Peel the onions, slice them and brown them in a pan with 25g of butter.
  2. Peel the potatoes, cut them into pieces and cook them in boiling water for 20 minutes. Drain them and mash them.
  3. Remove the onions and set aside. In their place, add the ground meat and cook for 5 to 6 minutes. Return the onions to the pan and stir-fry everything together. Off the heat, add the parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Mash the potatoes. Add the milk and 125g of butter, a little grated nutmeg.
  5. In a buttered ovenproof dish, spread the minced meat and then add the mashed potatoes. Bake in a preheated oven (200°C/400°F) for about 25 minutes. Then broil for 5 minutes until golden brown.
