Oatmeal seed crackers

Today we are sharing the recipe for these delicious oatmeal seed crackers. Yes, you read that right. The crackers are made from oats. This makes them nice and nutritious and keeps you feeling full. We make them from oat flour. You can buy this ready-made. We always get it from the De Zandhaas mill.

As a topping for these oatmeal seed crackers, we use various types of kernels and seeds. We chose pumpkin seeds, flaxseed, and sesame seeds. But of course, you can vary this, whatever you like best. Think, for example, of sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or chia seeds. Anything is possible! The seed crackers are delicious for breakfast or lunch. Or as a snack with a dollop of fresh hummus. Yum!

Here's how to make it. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius (fan-assisted).

Mix the oat flour with the water and the oil. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Form it into a dough by mixing all the ingredients well.

Roll out the dough between 2 sheets of baking paper.

Next, cut the dough into equal rectangles and brush the tops with water.

Sprinkle the dough with the pumpkin seeds, flaxseed, and sesame seeds.

Place the crackers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the seed crackers in the oven for 30 minutes. Flip them over halfway through if the bottom is not yet crispy. As a general rule: the thinner they are rolled out, the crispier they become.

Let the crackers cool and serve them with some hummus, if desired.
