Let's listen to his words, which are a cry of alarm: "Things are going badly, I will close four locations between Naples and Milan, but home pizza delivery can be done safely and would allow the entire sector to start moving again, even if it's like a car running on gas." The reference to delivery applies to Campania, where the inflexible governor Vincenzo De Luca (yes, the flamethrower) has also banned deliveries, bringing the entire sector to its knees.
For this reason, Massimo Di Porzio, owner of "Umberto" in the Chiaia neighborhood of Naples and president of Fipe Confcommercio for Naples and the province, has launched an appeal to allow deliveries.
Here's how Sorbillo sees it: "Making 40 takeout pizzas a day and maybe 100 on the weekend won't solve the problems, but it's a start. We're all in crisis. I won't reopen the restaurant on the seafront or the fried pizza one in Vomero, nor two places in Milan. Right now, the only place we serve takeout pizzas is the one in Tokyo. Here, we can deliver by sealing the pizza box with plastic wrap, completely safely."
