Club América: sponsor of Host City Mexico City and the cultural and gastronomic offerings leading up to the World Cup
Mexico City took a historic step today toward the World Cup by announcing its official Host City activities. Within this framework, it was confirmed that Club América will be the first football club to serve as an official sponsor of Host City Mexico City.
During the presentation, a comprehensive plan was revealed that will encompass more than 35 events, concerts and unique experiences, designed under three pillars that will represent the capital to the world: Culture, Entertainment and Experiences.
Club América, one of the most emblematic teams with the largest fan base in the country, will join the project as an ambassador of the sporting spirit and as a promoter of activities that will connect local and international fans with the football identity of the capital.
An offering that goes beyond football: gastronomic experiences that celebrate Mexico City
Among the pillars, one of the central axes is gastronomy. The collaboration includes:
- Highlighted gastronomic spots in the City Guide, selected to showcase the culinary diversity that characterizes the capital.
- A unique offering within the FIFA Fan Festival, a space where attendees can enjoy local flavors reinterpreted especially for the event.
The heart of the World Cup: FIFA Fan Festival in the Zócalo
For 40 days, Mexico City's Zócalo will become the heart of Host City. This monumental setting will include:
- Live broadcasts of matches from all venues every day, on giant screens.
- Immersive activities for enthusiasts from all over the world.
- Artistic performances, sports activities, and special gastronomic experiences developed in coordination with sponsors, including Club América.
It will be a multicultural meeting point, where the passion for football will blend with the historical and cultural richness of the capital.
“The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ will be much more than football: it will be a unique opportunity to elevate the name of our beloved city before the entire world,” said Michel Bauer, CEO of Host City Mexico City.
The project unveiled today is designed to showcase the best of Mexico City to national and international visitors. With more than 35 experiences, including parades, exhibitions, concerts, immersive installations, and community activities, the capital is preparing to experience one of the most important moments in its contemporary history.
With this presentation, Host City Mexico City marks the beginning of a countdown full of activities that merge sport, gastronomy, culture and entertainment, positioning the capital as a vibrant and leading stage of the World Cup.
