Delicious Recipes: How to Make Baked Cauliflower with Béchamel Sauce?

Cauliflower, a member of the Brassica family, is a vitamin-rich vegetable with fleshy florets. While many might turn up their noses at the mention of its name, its health benefits are countless. Rich in folic acid, vitamin C, and phosphorus, cauliflower is also a staple in diet plans due to its fat-burning properties.

  • 5 cups of hot water
  • 1 medium cauliflower
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1.5 cups of cold milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • a small bunch of dill
  • 100 grams of grated cheddar cheese

  1. 1. Cut off the roots of the cauliflower and separate it into florets.
  2. 2. After washing the separated cauliflower florets thoroughly with plenty of water, drain them.
  3. 3. Pour the boiling water into a deep pot.
  4. 4. Add the flour and cauliflower to the water and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. 5. For the béchamel sauce: Melt the butter in a small pan.
  6. 6. Add the flour and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  7. 7. Gradually add cold milk to the mixture, whisking to prevent lumps.
  8. 8. Add salt, nutmeg, and black pepper, and stir until the béchamel sauce thickens.
  9. 9. Drain the cooked cauliflower using a colander and transfer it to a heat-resistant baking dish or tray.
  10. 10. Spread the cauliflower florets in the dish, then drizzle the béchamel sauce over them.
  11. 11. Sprinkle grated cheese over the sauce.
  12. 12. Set the oven to 180 degrees and bake for approximately 15 minutes.
  13. 13. You can garnish the cauliflower with dill before serving after taking it out of the oven.
