Fitness guy's steak and broccoli bowl

Make this steak bowl after your workout. This ingenious bowl dish is ready in less than 15 minutes thanks to instant rice.

Ingredients · Servings 2
  • 150 g broccoli
  • ½ dl water
  • 250 g (whole grain) cooked rice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped sushi ginger
  • about 200 g beef fillet or minute steaks
  • salt and pepper
  • oil
  • spring onions
Method · 10 min
  1. Cut the broccoli into pieces. Measure the water into a bowl, add the broccoli and microwave for 3 minutes.
  2. Chop the sushi ginger and mix it with the broccoli. Stir in the rice as well. Cook for about 2 more minutes until the rice and broccoli are cooked. Divide the rice mixture between two bowls.
  3. Meanwhile, fry the minute steaks in oil in a hot pan for about a minute.
  4. Season with salt and pepper and cut into strips. Place on bowls. Chop spring onions on top.

Ready-to-eat rice is a lifesaver when hunger strikes unexpectedly or you need to refuel quickly after a workout. Ready-to-eat rice heats up in the microwave in just a few minutes and is ready to eat.

In addition to the instant rice, this bowl dish also uses fillet steak as a source of protein, which speeds up the preparation process. The steaks are fried literally in a minute, after which they are sliced into strips and mixed with the rice. The broccoli adds much-needed lightness and greenery to the dish, and you can season it with sushi ginger if you wish. It's a good idea to leave it a good chewy texture while cooking.

It is a good idea to choose whole grain rice to ensure you get enough fiber from your meal. Spring onions and sesame seeds, for example, can add the finishing touch to your meal.
