Find History With an Excellent Burger at This Boston Hotel Restaurant
Always busy, always dependably delicious, Oak Long Bar + Kitchen, located inside the historic Fairmont Copley, has been serving dinner and martinis to Bostonians for over a century.
What to order
- The burger ($27), topped with smoked bacon, red onion jam, and sharp Vermont cheddar, is a well-executed classic. The side of fries will make you very happy, and you can upgrade to truffle if that’s your thing.
- Squeaky halloumi cheese ($22) is served with enormous bruleed figs and rich molasses, which makes for a starter that we’d eat for dessert.
- Oak’s kitchen isn’t precious about its wagyu. The beef is served as a mighty cut, served medium-rare over a rich, sweet potato puree with crispy Brussels sprouts ($78)
Take note
We’re almost always going to tell you to sit at the bar when dining at a hotel, but Oak offers something extra special and cozy — seating for two at either end of the bar. Grab a loveseat for two and a martini on a cold winter night. Just note that the bar is open for walk-ins only.
