Ready for a Different Take on Steak? Here Comes Steak & Grace
Restaurateur Barry Mills is well-known for his previous endeavors in fast casual spots, including the now-defunct Flip Burger Boutique and HD1, and Big B’s Fish Joint. Now, he’s stepping into something new: Steak & Grace.
“There are several traditional steakhouses in the perimeter area, so we want to differentiate ourselves with the atmosphere and diverse menu,”
His latest restaurant will feature dishes by chef Conor O’Reilly, who has worked in kitchens at Tavernpoint, Woodfire Grill, Seven Lamps, and most recently for Fifth Group Restaurants. It will open by the end of the year in Dunwoody Village, where it will slide into the space previously occupied by the fast casual brunch chain First Watch.
The menu is going to be neighborhood bistro fare, from seafood and chicken to fire-cooked steaks and large salads, plus sandwiches for those who like it all between two slices of bread. It also teases gluten-free, keto, and dairy-free options in a press release about the opening.
Despite the steaks of it all, this will not exactly be a steakhouse. Mills said in the release he is leaning into the casual approach that his other destinations are known for. “There are several traditional steakhouses in the perimeter area, so we want to differentiate ourselves with the atmosphere and diverse menu,” he noted.
Also unlike the average steakhouse, Steak & Grace will not offer an array of a la carte sides, instead packaging plates together for a “more affordable” experience. It will also feature a hearty by-the-glass wine list. Diners can expect daily lunch specials, a weekend brunch, and happy hour at the bar.
