Recipe for Filet mignon with baked potatoes, submitted by Luiz Cláudio do Nascimento Cavalcante

1. Place the piece of filet mignon, divided into two parts, inside a plastic bag.

Ingredients · Servings 10
  • 1 piece of filet mignon
  • 6 medium-sized potatoes
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar or soy sauce
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange
  • Salt to taste
Method · 50 min
  1. Place the piece of filet mignon, divided into two parts, inside a plastic bag.
  2. Place the following in the same bag: lemon juice, orange juice, balsamic vinegar, black pepper, and salt to taste.
  3. Leave it in the refrigerator overnight.
  4. Line a square baking pan with aluminum foil, from the bottom to the edges.
  5. Place the pieces of filet mignon
  6. Place the potatoes, onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes around the pieces of filet mignon.
  7. Preheat the oven to 280°C for 15 minutes.
  8. Place the dish with the meat and side dishes covered with another piece of aluminum foil.
  9. Leave for 30 minutes at 280°C.
  10. After this time, remove the aluminum foil covering the pan and leave it for another 30 minutes until the meat and side dishes are browned.
  11. Note: This recipe does not contain olive oil or any other type of vegetable oil. Therefore, it's a great option for those who want a fat-free meal.
