Isaac Korean Street Toast Recipe & Video

Korean Isaac Toast Recipe! (Isaac Korean Street Toast Recipe) I have shared a Korean street toast recipe a while ago, that’s more of street vendor style. Today, I wanted to share a copycat recipe of the most popular Korean street toast franchise restaurant, Isaac Toast.

Ingredients
  • 1 kiwi, peeled and cut into small pieces
  • 1 small chunk of pineapple, optional
  • 1/8 of medium size onion, cut into small pieces
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 to 3 tsp sweet corn
  • Pinch of salt & pepper
  • butter or margarine
  • 2 slices sandwich bread
  • 1 sliced ham
  • 1 slice American or your favorite sliced cheese
  • 1 sweet gherkins, sliced
  • Handful shredded cabbage
Method · 10 min
  1. In a 2-cup measuring cup, add all ingredients for sauce and blend until smooth with a hand blender. This sauce will be good enough for 8 to 10 sandwiches and last up to 7 days in a refrigerator. Set aside.
  2. Beat egg with pinch of salt and pepper with sweet corn. Set aside.
  3. Butter your cooking surface. You can use griddle, large skillet or cast iron pan. Toast bread first. While bread is toasting, cook egg in a square cooking mold if you have one. Also cook sliced ham both sides. Flip over breads, but before flipping, butter cooking surface once again. Spread about 1 tbsp kiwi sauce on each toast.
  4. Remove cooking mold from egg and flip it over. Place cheese on top of egg and place ham right on top. Then gherkins and cabbage. Finally, top it with other piece of toast. Of course, sauce side down. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

I’m very confident to say that I got the secret sauce almost identically the same as the original sauce. So the only way you to find out is just to give this recipe a try! Are you ready? Let’s get started!

In a 2-cup measuring cup, add 1 peeled and chopped green kiwi, 1 small chunk of pineapple (pineapple is optional!), 1/8 of medium size onion, 4 tbsp mayonnaise (I highly recommend using Korean or Kewpie brand!), 3 tbsp honey and 1/2 tsp salt. Add black pepper to your taste. Blend all of the ingredients until smooth with a hand blender. This sauce will be good enough for 8 to 10 sandwiches and last up to 7 days in a refrigerator. Set aside.

Beat egg with a pinch of salt and pepper with sweet corn. Set aside.

Slice green cabbage thinly as possible or prepare shredded cabbage. Also, slice sweet gherkins. Sweet gherkins are also the signature flavor of Issac Toast, so don’t skip them!!

Butter your cooking surface. You can use a griddle, large skillet, or cast iron pan. We are going to toast the bread first. While bread is toasting, cook sliced ham and egg in a square cooking mold if you have one. You don’t have to use the mold, but it makes the square size egg that fits perfectly with bread, like real Isaac Toast!

This is the exact square mold I have and used for this recipe. It works great! Just make sure to grease the inside so the egg won’t stick to the surface of the mold. When I use this mold, I feel like I became the real Korean street food vendor! lol?

Flip over bread, but before flipping, butter cooking surface once again. Spread about 1 tbsp kiwi sauce on each toast.

Remove cooking mold from egg and flip it over. Place cheese on top of the egg and place ham right on top. This way, the cheese will melt perfectly! Then gherkins and cabbage.

Finally, top it with another piece of toast. Of course, sauce side down. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
