Anne&Max brings organic specialty coffee to Ekoplaza

Hospitality chain Anne&Max is introducing its own line of organic specialty coffee for home use. The eight coffees are available starting this week at organic supermarket chain Ekoplaza.

The line has been developed for various coffee brewing methods, including fully automatic machines, filter machines, and capsule machines. According to Anne&Max, all variants are specialty coffee and are 100 percent organic and Fairtrade certified. The assortment consists of coffee beans and capsules, including espresso and lungo varieties.

Low-caffeine and decaffeinated coffee

One of the new products is a low-caffeine coffee with, according to Anne&Max, 40 percent less caffeine than the regular variant. In addition, a decaffeinated filter coffee is being launched.

The introduction follows shortly after a blog by Anne&Max about the origin and production of the coffee. In it, the company states that it works directly with coffee farmers and cooperatives in Peru. According to Anne&Max, this approach ensures shorter lines of communication between farmers, buyers, and coffee roasters, and greater insight into the origin and the price paid for the coffee.

More than the market price

Anne&Max also states that it pays more than the market price for coffee. "We prefer long-term partnerships and a price that allows coffee farmers to invest in their business, their coffee, and its future," the company says.

With the new line, Anne&Max is making the move from selling coffee in its own hospitality establishments to the organic supermarket channel. The eight varieties are available at Ekoplaza.
