Reading time: 2 minutes – 362 words.
- 6 g cinnamon
- 3
- 1 egg (for brushing)
- Preparation: Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside. Preheat the oven to 190°C (fan assisted) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash and thoroughly dry the organic Gala apples. Cut the apples into horizontal slices about 1.5 cm thick and remove the cores using a pastry cutter or a round cutter about 3 cm in diameter. Immediately brush the slices with a few drops of lemon juice to prevent browning. Dip each slice in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, coating them evenly on both sides.
- Unroll the puff pastry and cut strips about 1.5 cm wide. Wrap the strips around the apple slices until they are completely covered, and arrange the donuts on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the surface with beaten egg and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and fragrant. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for about 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely. Serve warm or at room temperature.
