The Recco Focaccia Consortium with Cheese at Bra'S, the Bra Sausage Festival
For the people of Recco, the event in Bra from Friday, September 18th to Sunday, September 20th, is a return to a second home: the Consortium of Focaccia di Recco has been, since its first edition, among the famous Street Kitchens at Cheese, one of the major events organized by Slow Food.
The consortium explains: "The Cuneo area is a region whose residents are very fond of Recco. Suffice it to say that the largest number of buses (over 80 passed through this year) participating in the Focaccia Festival (always the fourth Sunday of May) come from the so-called Provincia Granda."
Bra'S, a national event organized by Ascom Confcommercio, the Bra area, the City of Bra, the Piedmont Region, and the Cuneo and Langhe Monferrato Roero Chamber of Commerce, was created to celebrate one of Piedmont's most distinctive gastronomic delicacies, Bra Sausage. The event will transform the city of Zizzola (a charming octagonal villa perched on a hill overlooking the city) into a grand stage, showcasing the "foursome of Bra flavors": Bra Sausage, Bra Soft and Hard DOP Cheese, Bra Rice, and Bra Bread. This year, Recco, the gastronomic capital of Liguria, will also be joining them with its signature product, Focaccia col formaggio.
The Consortium of Focaccia di Recco col Formaggio, its global ambassador, brings its history and tradition to major events, the media, and wherever institutions call upon it. By making focaccia col formaggio on display, it allows the public to appreciate its flavor, fragrance, and unmistakable aroma of freshly baked focaccia. It's inevitable to visit Liguria—Recco, Camogli, Sori, and Avegno—to savor it in the places where its origins are rooted, and which, since 2015, have become municipalities within the Focaccia di Recco col Formaggio PGI Production Area.
