Kefir

A quick and easy dessert that even beginners can make. Kefir will make the dough soft and slightly sour, and the chocolate icing will make it a delicacy. You can also sprinkle coconut or nuts on the icing.

Ingredients · Servings 1 sheet
  • Dough:
  • 100 g semi-coarse flour
  • 250 g plain flour
  • 120 g caster sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 200 ml oil
  • 500 ml kefir
  • 1 egg
  • Frosting:
  • 200 g sour cream
  • 100 g cooking chocolate
Method · 40 min
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  2. Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl and add the rest.
  3. Pour the batter onto the baking sheet and smooth it out. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes. Check the doneness with a skewer inserted into the cake; it should come out dry when removed.
  4. For the icing, melt the chocolate in a water bath, mix with the cream and spread over the cooled cake.
  5. Let the dessert set in the refrigerator. Once set, cut into slices.
