How to make sausage and cheese skewers: ideal for weekend snacking
As the song says, "Friday, thank God it's Friday," and if you feel like celebrating the arrival of the weekend with a good snack while watching a series or movie, here's a recipe for corn dogs with sausage and cheese.
We got this recipe from Abue Angie Recetas' profile, although it was her granddaughter who prepared this dish and, as she rightly said, it is an ideal option for snacking.
The key to making them perfect is to prepare them like a kebab. Insert a piece of sausage onto a wooden skewer, followed by a block of cheese, and so on until the skewer is full.
Additionally, to make coating them with the batter easier, you can place them in a cylindrical container. This way, it will be much simpler to dip the corn dogs before breading and frying them.
- In a deep bowl, add all the ingredients, starting in the order they appear in the list. Mix until fully combined and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the skewers. Take the sausages and cut them in half. Then, cut the cheese into small cubes.
- On a wooden skewer, insert a piece of sausage and then a piece of cheese. Repeat the procedure until the skewer is almost completely covered.
- Dip each skewer in the mixture until it is completely covered and then coat it in breadcrumbs.
- In a frying pan, add approximately one liter of oil and heat it over medium heat. When ready, add the corn dogs and fry them until golden brown. Be careful during cooking to prevent them from burning.
- Once ready, place them on absorbent paper to remove excess oil and serve them with your favorite accompaniments, such as ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard or hot sauce.
