Mega Bacon Burger

#1 - Baconfonat

Take a large baking sheet, line it with baking paper, and lay six slices of bacon lengthwise, side by side. Once you have them, fold the odd-numbered ones back, almost to the end, then crosswise, with a slice perpendicular to them. Fold the folded ones back. Now fold the even-numbered bacons up to the crossed slice, place another one underneath, and fold them back. Continue like this until you reach the end, then fold the ends back to make the braid even more beautiful. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 25 minutes. When ready, set aside and pour off the fat.

#2 - Bacon special sauce

In a bowl, combine ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise in equal proportions, pour in about half a deciliter of the bacon fat, add another half deciliter of pickle juice, spicy to taste, and a little pepper. Mix until smooth, then set aside to cool for a while.

#3 - Onions fried in bacon fat

In the other half of the remaining fat, sauté the sliced red onion over low heat.

#4 - Bacon in the meat

Cut 5-8 slices of bacon into small pieces and mix them into the minced meat. The smaller the pieces, the more homogeneous it will be. Once you have this, flatten the meat patty, make a small indentation in the middle, and fry it. Season the sides with salt and pepper, and after turning, add cheddar cheese. When ready, let it rest for a few minutes.

#5 - Bacon-fried buns

Cut the bun in half and fry it in the remaining onion and meat fat over low heat.

Once everything is ready, it's time to assemble: put a spoonful of ham sauce on the bottom of the bun, then the meat, a good portion of fried onions, two slices of pickled cucumber, the bacon braid cut to the right size, and then the top of the bun.

Eat it with a good appetite, but keep your fingers on speed dial in case you end up feeling full because of the high fat content. It's also recommended before evening drinks, for similar reasons.
