The Executioner's Whip according to Zdeněk Pohlreich

Executioner's whip according to Zdeněk Pohlreich is a spicy meat mixture with a distinctive sweet and sour taste. Pork noodles are complemented by three types of peppers, pickled cucumbers, tomatoes and hot pepper, which gives the dish the right zing.

Ingredients · Servings 1 dose
  • 600 g pork neck
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 4 pickled cucumbers
  • 400 g crushed tomatoes
  • 1 hot pepper
  • 10 g caster sugar
  • 15 ml octa
  • 30 ml of oil
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • salt
  • ground pepper
Method · 55 min
  1. Cut the meat into strips. Peel the onion and garlic, finely chop the onion and chop the garlic. Clean the peppers, remove the seeds and cut into strips. Cut the pickles into smaller pieces and finely chop the hot pepper.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan. Season the meat with salt and pepper and sear it quickly on all sides.
  3. Add the onion and sauté with the meat until soft. Then add the peppers and garlic and sauté briefly so that the peppers remain slightly crispy.
  4. Add the pickles, crushed tomatoes and hot pepper. Mix and season with sugar, vinegar and a little Worcestershire sauce if desired.
  5. Simmer the mixture over low heat for 20–30 minutes, until the meat is tender and the flavors meld. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
  6. We serve the executioner's whipping cream with potato pancakes, rice or fresh bread, for example.
