Puff pastry roses with chorizo

These puff pastry appetizers with chorizo are beautifully presented and delicious. They're shaped like roses, giving a savory dish a look straight out of a pastry shop.

Ingredients · Servings 6
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 600g of chorizo in thick slices
  • 20-30 slices of cheese
Method · 12 min
  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) with the top and bottom elements on. Roll out the puff pastry dough and cut into sheets about 6 centimeters (2.5 inches) wide.
  2. Along the length of the puff pastry strip, we place the cheese cut into wide strips, to give the puff pastry a creamy base when it is baked.
  3. We place the chorizo in a row, making the round part of the slice end up with the shape of a petal.
  4. Now we begin to roll the puff pastry very carefully and with a firm motion. As we roll it, the rose shape will begin to form. Finally, we need to bring the end of the pastry together with the rolled-up part so that it is well sealed and doesn't open during baking.
  5. We put it in the middle of the oven and bake for about 12 minutes. We take it out and serve it hot or cold.

It's super easy to make, since we'll be using store-bought puff pastry sheets. We'll wrap strips of puff pastry with cheese and chorizo, and then it'll be ready to go in the oven. Don't miss out on this idea because you'll definitely want to make it again.
