Casa Italia, the Negrini delicatessen in Barcelona

Negrini the big draw

Nicoletta Negrini, head of the famous Italian charcuterie family in Spain - and recognized as the great introducer of great Italian pork products in our country - was the special guest, along with the Roman charcuterie maker Stefano Pascioti, at the opening of Casa Italia, the first Italian salumeria (charcuterie) in Barcelona, in which Negrini's products make up 80% of the merchandise on display, along with cheeses, oils or breads.

Italian products in Barcelona

The brand's owner, Waseem Asad, who owns four other Italian product stores in the city, is thus fulfilling his dream of opening a truly Italian delicatessen with Negrini as its main attraction.

Pasciotti, for his part, throughout the vernissage, explained some of the store's star products, in which, of course, everything is cut at the exact moment.

Mortadella – Negrini's flagship variety – pistachio, the famous truffle mortadella, chili pepper mortadella, mortadella made with Romagnolo pork (similar to our Iberian pork)...

Cooked hams, plain, roasted with herbs, and Julius, the absolute pinnacle of quality. Truffled turkey. Classic pianatta (salami); the erotic coppa; the Ferrara salami (family recipe); spicy spianatta; pancetta stagionatta copada…

Beyond these transalpine tributes to pork, they tasted young gorgonzola -fluid-, Lady goat (blue), the sublime pecorino from Emilia Romagna, buffalo blue and even a chocolate cheese.
