Boring vegetables? No more! These crispy air-fried green beans with parmesan and paprika are the ultimate snack. Save the idea!

Looking for a delicious, healthy, and super-quick side dish? Crispy air-fried green beans are the perfect solution!

Ingredients · Servings 4
  • Fresh or frozen green beans 500 g
  • Extra virgin olive oil (EVO) 2 tablespoons
  • Breadcrumbs 30 g
  • 20g grated Parmigiano Reggiano
  • Garlic powder ½ teaspoon
  • Sweet or smoked paprika 1 teaspoon
  • Fine salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
Method · 25 min
  1. Start by thoroughly washing the fresh green beans under running water. Dry them thoroughly with a clean cloth or paper towel. This step is essential for maximum crispiness during cooking! Now, trim the ends, removing the stems, and transfer the cleaned and thoroughly dried green beans to a large bowl. Pour in the extra virgin olive oil and mix thoroughly, using your hands or a spoon. Make sure to distribute the oil evenly over the entire surface of the green beans.
  2. Now prepare the aromatic breading. In a separate bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmigiano Reggiano. Add the garlic powder, paprika, freshly ground black pepper, and a pinch of fine salt. Mix all the dry ingredients well with a spoon until thoroughly combined.
  3. Sprinkle the breading mixture over the green beans and toss thoroughly, ensuring each bean is evenly coated in flavor. Meanwhile, preheat the air fryer to 190°C (375°F) for about 3 minutes. Transfer the breaded green beans to the basket, distributing them evenly without overcrowding. If necessary, cook them in two batches for maximum crispiness. Cook at 190°C (375°F) for 12-15 minutes. Halfway through cooking (after 6-7 minutes), remove the basket and gently shake it to turn the green beans and ensure they are evenly browned. Remove from the oven as soon as they are perfectly golden and fragrant. Serve immediately while still hot to enjoy them at their best!

With a delicious, aromatic coating and minimal oil, this healthy vegetable snack is sure to please. Prepare to be greeted by the irresistible aroma of toasted paprika and Parmesan cheese wafting through your kitchen as soon as you open the basket halfway through cooking.

The real secret to flawless results and avoiding the dreaded "boiled" look? Thoroughly dry the green beans after washing them. Excess moisture would create steam in the basket, completely compromising the final crispiness.

If you love this vegetable, you know how versatile it is in the kitchen. You can use it to enhance fantastic first courses, like traditional trofie with pesto, potatoes, and green beans, or a hearty pasta, potato, and green bean salad.

Need more ideas for delicious vegetable side dishes? Try these refreshing pan-fried green beans with lemon or a simple green bean salad, perfect for hot summer days.

For those times when you're craving more robust, home-style flavors, I recommend serving stewed green beans in peasant style or a rustic one-pot meal like baked green beans and potatoes with hard-boiled eggs.

Now all you have to do is prepare the breading, turn on the appliance and enjoy these fried green beans not fried!
