Whatever happens with the Seattle Kraken this season, you can be sure that the food is going to be a cut above the usual hockey game fare. Climate Pledge Arena’s culinary team, headed by executive chef Molly DeMers, is known for trying to go above and beyond what is normally expected from food at sporting events.
What to Eat at Climate Pledge Arena During Kraken Games
The ambitious arena culinary team is serving pho, birria nachos, and even granita.
So more than most sporting venues, it’s possible to think of Climate Pledge as a really big restaurant that happens to have an ice hockey rink in the middle of it. And every season this restaurant comes out with an updated menu. Here are some of our favorites for 2025:
Our Favorite New Items at Climate Pledge Arena
Oysters at Poke Pop [Section 6].
The most audacious thing Climate Pledge is offering in 2025 is offering freshly shucked raw oysters not just at a selection of luxury boxes but for general seating. These are simply presented with lemon, mignonette, and hot sauce, and to be honest the main appeal is the novelty — eating a dozen oysters in the stands at an NHL game is the kind of chaotic flex we love to see.
Crispy Peanut Butter N Jelly at Molly D’s Burgers [Section 8].
With the popularity of Uncrustables, it’s a little surprising that more folks aren’t riding the PB&J bandwagon. This little dessert item might be a bit of trend-chasing, but it was the standout star of the Kraken food preview. The crust is crispy, the inside is sweet and jammy, and the whole thing has a pleasantly sticky mouthfeel. As a bonus it’s an extremely kid-friendly item.
The Arena Dog at Bavarian Meats [Section 3].
For those who like meat in their meat, here’s a hot dog sliced down the middle and filled with short rib. This meaty combo plus the soft bun would be a solid meal, but what elevates it is the horseradish sauce, which provides a welcome acidic note and has that telltale nasal heat of actual horseradish.
$9.99 and under items [Around the stadium]
Climate Pledge is focusing on affordable bites, and the team here deserves props for including some actual meal-sized bites in their value menu, like a smoked turkey leg (from Mercer Mac N Cheese in Section 24) and a cheesesteak (from Hempler’s Market Place, Section 224).
Returning favorites
Ballard Pizza [Sections 13, 26, and 120; requires a ticket to American Express Hall, WaFd Bank Club or Symetra Club].
General admission folks can’t snag these slices, which is a shame — they’re some of the most consistent food in the whole stadium. As you probably known, Ethan Stowell’s Ballard Pizza Company serves New York–style slices with chewy crust and seasonal toppings; the slices at Climate Pledge are just as good as those outside, which is high praise. The rotating special slices are legit special as well, and feature ingredients like fennel pollen and artichoke hearts.
1st Ave. Nachos [Sections 04 and 108]
These Climate Pledge mainstays have all the elements of solid nachos: chips that are a mixture of crispy and soft from melted cheese, pickled onions for acid, jalapenos for heat (they’re actually spicy!), and some slow-cooked meat. (Impossible beef is available for vegans.) This is a great option if you want something hand-held.
