Chocolate tablet with pistachio and mandarin, the perfect treat for winter!

Materials

Ingredients · Servings 12
  • 200g of dark chocolate
  • 15g of deodorized coconut oil
  • 3 tangerines
  • 50g of chopped pistachios
  • 1 granada
Method · 40 min
  1. Roughly crush the pistachio and set aside.
  2. Remove the pomegranate seeds with the help of a spoon.
  3. Peel the tangerines and slice them very thinly.
  4. Melt the chocolate in the microwave with the coconut oil for 1 minute and 30 seconds (adjust according to the power). You can also melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
  5. Arrange the mandarin orange slices in a rectangle (like a chocolate bar) on a plate or tray lined with baking paper.
  6. Scatter the pomegranate seeds on top.
  7. Cover with the melted chocolate, making sure the mandarin is well coated.
  8. Add the crushed pistachios on top and put in the fridge for 30 minutes to harden.
  9. And that's it!

How should I store the pistachio and mandarin chocolate bar?

It is best to store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain its texture and flavor.

Can I substitute the mandarin orange with another fruit?

Yes. You can substitute it with another fruit that pairs well with chocolate, but keep moisture in mind: Citrus fruits (oranges, clementines) work especially well. Red fruits (strawberries, raspberries) or halved grapes are also excellent. Avoid very watery fruits (melon, kiwi) if you want the bar to hold its shape: they release liquid and the chocolate can become soggy.

Citrus fruits (orange, clementine) work especially well.

Can this recipe be vegan?

Yes. If the dark chocolate you use is vegan, the recipe presents no problem.

How long does it last in the refrigerator?

Up to 3 days, although it's better freshly made, because the fruit adds moisture.

Can I substitute the pistachio with another topping?

Of course. You can play with lots of options:

Other nuts: hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans, slivered almonds.

Seeds: sesame, pumpkin seeds (better if you toast them a little).

Shredded coconut or coconut flakes.

Crunchy touches: cookie pieces, wafer, puffed cereal.

Final touch: flaky salt, citrus zest, or a hint of cinnamon/cardamom.

- Other nuts: hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans, flaked almonds.

- Shredded coconut or coconut chips.
