Chocolate and pear cake

Today we're making a chocolate and pear cake. You can experiment with the different pear varieties available throughout the year and you'll be surprised at how the flavor changes. It's a moist cake, and the fruit bakes perfectly in the time I've indicated. It also goes well with a splash of your favorite liqueur.

Ingredients · Servings 6
  • 210 g of whole milk
  • 40g of Valor unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 300 g of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt
  • 100g of extra virgin olive oil of a mild variety
  • 200g of pastry flour
  • 8 g of yeast
  • 3 medium pears
Method · 50 min
  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC, top and bottom heat.
  2. Put the milk in a bowl and add the cocoa. Mix it well.
  3. Put the eggs and sugar in another bowl and beat for 5 minutes with an electric mixer. Stir in the 2 tablespoons of yogurt. Mix.
  4. Add the oil and the cocoa and milk mixture. Stir everything well.
  5. Add the sifted flour and baking powder. Mix again with a spatula, just until everything is well combined.
  6. Peel the pears, leaving the stem on.
  7. Put the dough in the molds and place the pears in the center of each one.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Let cool and serve.
