Soft and fluffy carnival doughnuts

A must-have for Mardi Gras, these soft and fluffy carnival doughnuts are always a hit. Both crispy and soft, these doughnuts are perfect for a successful Mardi Gras celebration. Easy, economical, and prepared the day before for optimal resting time, this recipe guarantees perfectly puffed doughnuts.

Ingredients · Servings 6 people
  • 1 kg flour
  • 120 g sucre
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 egg units
  • 120g butter
  • 40 g brewer's or baker's yeast
  • lemon zest
  • 1 glass of milk
  • cinnamon
  • icing sugar
Method · 30 min
  1. Place the flour in a well and add the ingredients one after the other in the order indicated.
  2. Knead this dough well to make it supple. Let it rest for 1 hour.
  3. Roll out the dough into a sheet 1 to 2 cm thick. Cut out rounds using a glass. Place them on a towel (I put mine on the radiator) and let them double in size, about 30 minutes.
  4. Fry the doughnuts in a pan of hot oil until golden brown.
  5. Drain them and sprinkle them with the sugar and cinnamon mixture or icing sugar.
