Cheese platter with nut bread

Still no idea what to serve with drinks tomorrow? This cheese platter with nut bread is always a good idea. It is tasty, easy, and requires no effort. All you have to do is pick out a few delicious cheeses. I will give you a few tips later in the article.

It's already the second-to-last day of the year! Wow, how this year has flown by, don't you think? I've been working with Pauline on this site for just over a year now, and I'm super happy that I made this choice. I think it's incredibly cool that I get to do what I love every day. And that is photographing, styling, and writing—in other words, creating fun content for you.

As mentioned earlier, I have gathered a number of tips for you on putting together a good cheese board:

  • Ensure that the cheeses are at room temperature. This improves the taste;
  • A cheese board should have about 5 different types of cheese;
  • Cheeses you can choose from include, for example: a goat or sheep cheese, a white mold cheese, a hard or semi-hard cheese, a red rind (e.g. Port Salut), and a blue cheese.
  • Eat the cheese in the order mentioned above. Always eat blue cheese last, because it has a very strong flavor.
  • Count on approximately 100 grams of cheese per person in total.
  • Optionally add some grapes or figs for a good balance between savory and sweet.

What is on this cheese board?

I have chosen the following cheeses for this cheese board:

Mont d'or This is a delicious cheese with a soft, creamy flavor. Heat it in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (fan oven). Then you can enjoy dipping the cheese with bread.

Taleggio This is a small Italian cheese with an orange rind. It is a soft cheese with a slightly sweet taste.

Gormas Gormas is actually a combination of two cheeses, namely gorgonzola and mascarpone. The creamy mascarpone and the slightly spicy gorgonzola go well together. Perfect for those who aren't die-hard blue cheese lovers.

Goat cheese. A goat cheese is always a good choice. The taste is fresh and salty at the same time.

Truffle Cheese Truffle lovers are always delighted by truffle cheese on the cheese board. Truffle cheese has a distinct flavor due to the addition of truffle.

Chaumes Chaumes is a small French cheese with a slightly sticky rind. The cheese has a mildly spicy flavor.

Date and Nut Bread A date and nut bread is a perfect addition to the cheese board. The sweetness of the bread provides a good contrast to the savory cheese flavors.

Figs and grapes Figs and grapes are also a good addition to the cheese board, for the same reason as the date and nut bread. The sweet taste combines well with the savory flavors of the cheese.
