Judge Orders Station Casinos to Recognize the Culinary Union and Negotiate a Contract
A temporary injunction by a U.S. District Court judge orders Red Rock Resorts to recognize Culinary Workers Union Local 226 as the official bargaining representative at 10 Station Casinos resorts.

Judge Orders Station Casinos to Recognize the Culinary Union and Negotiate a Contract
An order from U.S. District judge Gloria Navarro requires Station Casinos to start culinary union negotiations.
The culinary union, which represents approximately 1,350 Red Rock Casino workers, says it tried to negotiate union contracts at 10 resorts. Boulder Station originally voted to unionize in September 2016, followed by the latest, Texas Station and Santa Fe Station, in April 2021. Texas Station, Fiesta Rancho, and Fiesta Henderson remain closed, while the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians bought the Palms in May for $650 million.
The injunction by US. District Court judge Gloria M. Navarro orders notifications to all employees of the government’s ruling in English and Spanish within five days and mandatory employee meetings with staff within 14 days to “read aloud pages 30-34 of the order directing Red Rock Casino to cease and desist from engaging in unfair labor practices, in English and Spanish.”
