Saturday's cocktail: Monkey's Cola according to Bar Liguria
A typical Chilean treat. The perfect partner for pan de pascua at Christmas and New Year's dinners. The one that spreads smiles at end-of-year work parties, but in some bars, it's served year-round.
Preparation for 4 liters.
Ingredients
- 3 liters of milk.
- 1 bottle of 40º brandy.
- 1 cinnamon stick.
- 5 cloves.
- 1 jar of condensed milk.
- 500 g of sugar.
- 1 tablespoon of ground nutmeg.
- 2 tablespoons of instant coffee powder.
Elaboration
- Boil the milk in a large pot, taking care that it does not boil over or steam.
- When it is boiling, add the condensed milk, coffee and the sugar dissolved with the flavorings.
- Turn off the heat and mix well. Let it cool and remove the cinnamon sticks and cloves.
- Add the liquor, stir, store in bottles (it's about 4 liters of cola de mono, for the family) and refrigerate if possible until the next day, so that it is very cold.
- Serve with a piece of Christmas bread during the end-of-year holidays.
