The Straightener's Croissant Cake
Ready-made croissant dough is versatile! This surprisingly easy, yet impressive cake is ready in no time for surprise guests.
- 1 tlk croissant-taikinaa (Danerolles)
- 1 kananmuna
- noin 1/2 litraa vaniljajäätelöä
- 2 dl vispikermaa
- 1 dl aprikoosihilloa
- 1 tlk (noin 410 g / 230 g) säilykeaprikooseja tai -persikoita
- tomusokeria
- Kuumenna uuni 200 asteeseen. Kääri 6 croissantia pakkauksen ohjeen mukaan.
- Vuoraa 18 cm:n irtopohjavuoka leivinpaperilla ja voitele se. Nosta croissantit vieri viereen vuokaan. Voitele kananmunalla. Paista noin 20 minuuttia. Anna jäähtyä ja irrota vuoastaan.
- Pyöritä jäätelöstä palloja lautasen päälle ja laita pakastimeen odottamaan. Vatkaa kerma vaahdoksi.
- Halkaise jäähtynyt croissant-kakkupohja. Täytä aprikoosihillolla. Valuta aprikoosit ja laita puolet hillon päälle. Nosta jäätelöpallot ja osa kermavaahdosta päälle ja nosta toinen croissant-kakkulevy päälle.
- Tupsuttele tomusokeria pinnalle, nosta päälle nokareita kermavaahtoa ja koristele lopuilla aprikooseilla.
The finished croissant dough also works well as a cake. When the croissants are rolled according to the instructions, but placed tightly in a springform pan, they form a flaky cake base that can be cut in half when cooked.
You can fill it with any kind of treat, but in the spirit of Easter, you can add a dollop of apricot jam and apricot or peach halves. Of course, whipped cream and refreshing vanilla ice cream are also good options.
The raised cake plate can be covered with powdered sugar and decorated with the remaining ice cream, cream and preserved fruit.
When the filling is ice cream, the cake should be eaten immediately. Fortunately, the deliciousness guarantees that the serving plate will be emptied of every last crumb.
