Parmesan muffins

Simple flavors work for weekday mornings and snack muffins. Spelt flour gives a slightly different flavor compared to regular wheat.

Ingredients · Servings 6 annosta, 12 kpl
  • 100 g parmesaanijuustoa
  • ½ ruukkua basilikaa
  • 3½ dl spelttivehnäjauhoja
  • 1½ tl leivinjauhetta
  • 1 tl soodaa
  • ½ tl suolaa
  • 3 kananmunaa
  • 2 dl maustamatonta jogurttia
  • 12 Amerikan muffinivuokaa
Method · 20 min
  1. Laita uuni kuumenemaan 200 asteeseen. Laita muffinivuoat uunipellille tai muffinipellille. Voitele vuoat halutessasi kevyesti öljyllä.
  2. Raasta juusto raastimen pienellä terällä. Suikaloi basilikanlehdet.
  3. Sekoita kuivat aineet ja juusto kulhossa.
  4. Riko kananmunat toiseen kulhoon ja sekoita jogurtti joukkoon. Kääntele munaseos ja basilikat jauhoseokseen.
  5. Jaa taikina muffinivuokiin. Kypsennä uunissa 11–12 minuuttia.

Savory muffins are not a new invention, but unfortunately they are rarely thought of. These nifty cupcakes are easy to grab as a snack in a hurry and are great to serve at parties or dinner parties, for example.

These muffins use spelt flour instead of wheat flour, which gives the muffins their own unique flavor. The muffins also don't skimp on basil, as they shred a whole jar of it into the batter. The parmesan is finely grated and is truly the star of this recipe.

Once the dough ingredients are mixed together, they are portioned into high-sided muffin tins. These pastries do not require a long baking time, as they cook in just over 10 minutes.
