How to make Chicken Bhuna Masala Recipe

Chicken Bhuna Masala is a popular Indian dish made with tender chicken pieces cooked in a rich and flavorful masala sauce. The chicken is marinated in a blend of spices and then cooked with onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, and a variety of aromatic spices.

Ingredients for Chicken Bhuna Masala Recipe

125 gram Chicken, Cut Into Pieces

0.13 cup Yogurt

1/2 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste

0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder

1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder

As required Salt To Taste

1/2 tablespoon Oil

1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds

1 Cloves

1/4 stick Cinnamon

1 Cardamom Pods

1/2 Onions, Finely Chopped

1/2 Tomatoes, Finely Chopped

1/4 teaspoon Coriander Powder

as required Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

STEP 1.Marinate the chicken pieces with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.

STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, and cardamom pods. Fry until fragrant.

STEP 3.Add chopped onions and cook until golden brown. Then, add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.

STEP 4.Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.

STEP 5.Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook until they are browned and cooked through.

STEP 6.Add water if needed to adjust the consistency of the gravy. Cook for a few more minutes.

STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan bread.

Cooking Tips

Marinating the chicken for at least 30 minutes will help to tenderize the meat and infuse it with flavors.

You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.

For a richer and creamier gravy, you can add a tablespoon of cashew paste or cream.

To make the dish more aromatic, you can add a pinch of garam masala powder at the end.

Storage and Serving

Leftover chicken bhuna masala can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat the curry in a pan or microwave before serving.

Serve the chicken bhuna masala with steamed rice, jeera rice, or naan bread for a complete meal.
