Marinated Chicken Drumsticks with Honey, Garlic & Soy Sauce

This is a delicious and easy chicken drumsticks recipe that’s perfect for lunch or dinner. The chicken drumsticks are bathed in a garlic, chili and ginger marinade giving them a rich and spicy flavor. Serve with a side of rice and a sweet and spicy sauce.

Ingredients · Servings 2
  • 4 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 garlic
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 1 cm ginger
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/2 chili pepper
  • 0.5 cm ginger
  • 1/2 garlic
  • 1 green onion
  • 120 g rice
Method · 55 min
  1. Put all of the ingredients into a blender and process until you have a homogeneous liquid.
  2. Coat the chicken drumsticks with the marinade in a bowl and cover with cling wrap. Leave in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190 °C).
  4. Once the chicken drumsticks have marinated, cook them in the oven for 50-60 minutes.
  5. Finely chop the chili pepper and green onion, grate the garlic and ginger, then mix all of the ingredients with the soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, and honey.
  6. Wash the rice and boil it in salted water.
  7. Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven.
  8. Serve the chicken drumsticks with a side of cooked rice and drizzle the sauce over the chicken or use it as a dipping sauce.
  9. Garnish with additional chopped green onions or chili pepper slices if desired.
  10. Enjoy!
  • Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until you achieve a smooth and consistent liquid.
  • In a bowl, generously coat the chicken drumsticks with the marinade. Cover the bowl with cling wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour.
  • Finely chop the chili pepper and green onion. Grate the garlic and ginger.
  • Combine these ingredients with soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, and honey to create the sauce.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Once the chicken drumsticks have absorbed the flavors from the marinade, place them in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the drumsticks are cooked through and have a nice, appetizing color.
  • Rinse the rice thoroughly and cook it in salted water until it reaches your desired level of tenderness.

Note: this recipe works extremely well with chicken wings too.
