Brotpudding

- 200g white bread
- 300 ml milk
- 3 No
- 40 g sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 The Rosine
- a little butter
- a little icing sugar
Method · 55 min
- Cut white bread into large cubes.
- Place the milk, eggs, sugar, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl and whisk vigorously with a fork or whisk. Stir in the white bread cubes and let them soak briefly until they have absorbed the milk mixture. Gently fold in the raisins.
- Grease a baking dish with butter and pour in the white bread and milk mixture. Then place the filled baking dish inside a second, larger baking dish or a deep baking tray and fill the surrounding area with about 1 liter of water. The smaller dish should be about halfway submerged in the water; add more water if necessary. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) on a rack on the second shelf from the bottom for 40–50 minutes, or until set and lightly browned. Serve warm, sprinkled with powdered sugar if desired.
