A lecture on business behavior concluded the 12th Technical Meeting on Baking and Pastry in Bahia
Behavior can be the turning point for any business.
Behavior can be the turning point for any business. In the world of baking and confectionery, it is no different. The way entrepreneurs, leaders and teams behave and how they conduct the dynamics of micro and small businesses can transform the results. It was from this perspective that the speaker, psychologist and specialist in the subject, Sabrina Müller, conducted the last lecture of the XII Technical Meeting of Baking and Confectionery of Bahia, held on the evening of last Saturday (19), at the Pena Branca Convention Center, in Santo Antônio de Jesus, in the Recôncavo Baiano.
The meeting was a truly immersive journey, taking place between the 17th and 19th in the capital of the Recôncavo region, bringing together the main professionals and players in the baking and confectionery sector. The intense agenda promoted training, networking, and the exchange of experiences.
Speaker Sabrina Müller reinforced the importance of values such as empathy, respect, and trust in work relationships and highlighted constructive communication as a pillar of healthy relationships – issues that can directly impact company results and the development of the business environment.
“The behavior of both leaders – who set the tone in companies – and other employees who are part of a company influences whether or not a culture of well-being is promoted and, consequently, whether or not a healthier environment is fostered. Everything depends on behaviors because companies are made up of people, and if people are healthy, if relationships are healthy, and if a healthy environment is built, you have a company that thrives, that is more effective, more productive, and more profitable,” stated Müller.
According to Karla Pedrosa, an analyst at Sebrae in Santo Antônio de Jesus, the immersive experience significantly benefited the participants. “It was three days packed with content, including practical training and hands-on workshops on making pies, pizzas, cakes, breads, and other products. We had the participation of the baker voted the best in the world in 2019 and a reference in baking, the beloved Shimura. We managed to train around 400 professionals in the baking and confectionery sector – SIPACEB and Sebrae, in partnership with FIEB, the Municipal Government, and the main mills and strategic partners. The outcome is very positive because we managed to bring together professionals, entrepreneurs, and specialists from the sector in a single event with a lot of learning and networking opportunities,” she highlighted.
Those who participated recommend it.
Maria Iraci has been an entrepreneur for 20 years at Paladar Biscoitos, located in Laje, in the Jiquiriçá Valley region. For her, the experience was a turning point. “I acquired new knowledge about management and leadership, how to deal with people, with employees, how I can promote a good company culture by bringing new experiences. The final lecture on behavior added a lot of knowledge, especially highlighting the power of leadership that impacts the entire team with its behavior, and how this reflects on the work team,” she stated.
Antônio Barbosa, owner of the Sabor do Pastel brand – a business with over four decades in the Santo Antônio market – also gave a positive assessment. “This event was very positive. We think we come here just to learn about baking, but it went far beyond that. We gained knowledge about various areas that impact business. For me, as a leader, it was an excellent learning experience,” he added.
Ane Soraia is starting out in the frozen savory snacks business in Santo Antônio de Jesus, with the brand Ane Sory Salgados. For her, the lecture was fundamental. “We are beginning to have a new, broad vision for managing our company, realizing that the knowledge and teaching methods that Sebrae and SIPACEB provided us, along with so many partners and companies in the sector, were essential. Together, we grew with more learning and clarity to continue our entrepreneurial journey. All of this will undoubtedly help our team to act better and sell better as well. As human beings, we are improving processes, learning to develop our products better, and we certainly left this meeting better than when we arrived,” she concluded.
